Invictus Trailer

This film looks good. Check out the trailer and summary. -!YG

The film tells the inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela joined forces with the captain of South Africa’s rugby team to help unite their country. Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africa’s rugby team as they make their historic run to the 1995 Rugby World Cup Championship match

I found out that Morgan Freeman was going to be portraying Nelson Mandela this July at Mandela Day – an event to celebrate the great work of Mandela as well as a charge for people to act to contribute to a more just and sustainable world.

I saw the trailer for “Invictus” on Friday (just before watching “Precious” — THAT’S a movie people should be running out to see) and was disappointment.

So you get Morgan to play Mandela, by far one of the greatest political activists and humanitarians still alive and you choose to tell the story of his work and the anti-apartheid movie by focusing on football – ? (Soccer for some folks). Watching the trailer was like being forced to watch a bad commercial for 2010 World Cup.

Sure, I could be wrong on where the movie is going but the trailer combined with the poster above – you can barely see Morgan/Mandela’s face clearly while we get to look at Matt/Francois’ full smile as he looks at his adoring fans….omg, CLINT EASTWOOD directed this?!

Ahhhh…. I will not be seeing “Invictus” – not even on a $2 bootleg DVD.
