This weekend the NY Times has a piece on the visual artist/director Steve McQueen. They did a review of his show currently on view @ Marian Goodman Gallery & provide a flavor into his artistic practice.
I went to see this show Friday night & really enjoyed it. McQueen is in my top five w/regard contemporary artists. He doesn’t compromise his vision & creates truly moving work that causes you to think. His film Hunger was one of my favorite in 2009. Get familiar with Steve McQueen . -!YG
Meeting of Minds Over Japanese
Last night I got a chance to break bread with my OGs. We talked about everything from the state of hip hop, fine art and the power of media. Dinner made me reflect on how blessed I’ve been to have some incredible mentors in my life. If you don’t have a mentor – GET ONE!
