Hunter MFA Auction Acquistions

Hunter held their open studios yesterday and I kind of went a little h.a.m. by copping 2 pieces. The first is by a graduating MFA student, Reid Strelow entitled "Go West Young Man". It is a wood cut print 26 x 40 and didn't realize how big or heavy the piece was. Reid actually built the frame for the piece, so I got 2 works of art for the price of 1. 

The second piece is by a younger MFA student Coco Lopez and the piece is entitled "Galaxy (Foamposite)". This image is an 8×10 photo. I visited Coco's studio and I was really excited to see what she had cooking. I'm looking forward to following her and Reid as they grow in their artistic practice.

Delphine Diallo – “The Great Vision” at the M.I.A. Gallery (Seattle, Washington)

M.I.A Gallery is pleased to announce “The Great Vision”, an exhibition dedicated to the promising photographer and mixed-media artist, Delphine Diaw Diallo. There will be an opening reception on Thursday, April 5th from 6-8pm. The exhibition runs from April 5 th through May 12th, 2012. "The Great Vision" features over twenty photographs taken in the Crow Country, Montana. Delphine Diaw Diallo shoots ceremonial gatherings in which Crow members celebrate their culture and heritage.

New Art Acquisition: MORES MCWREATH – Of Course You Do 2010

I'm picking up this piece from Mores' studio later today. I'm really excited about this piece. I won it @ the Heart for Hart Auction last week.  I love the color…..
