As 20 plus photographers converge on the issue of love, viewers are taken on journey along a montage that investigates how we love, what we love and why does it seem to be an enigma at times. This visual conversation highlights the role of self-love and introspection as it builds self-esteem and identity. We see how reverse love or hate is manifested. Viewers find similar ground with conventional expressions of love while hopefully considering unorthodox connections. These images also point out the contradictions of so-called loving situations.

Martha Otero is pleased to present New York based artist Jeff Sonhouse’s exhibition, ‘Better Off Dead,’ Said The Landlord. For his Los Angeles solo debut, Sonhouse deconstructs the accepted theories of ownership and invites us to reexamine how we interpret relationships of power, as tenants of an overbearing architect. With alluding portrayals of glorified facades, he creates a frictional energy of immortality.

Here is a book that I snuck in during the weekend while @ the beach taking some time to refocus myself for the fall/winter months. Per the suggestion of Mr. Cruz, I decided to check out this book. Baked In is an interesting read that provides the essential building blocks to corps, small businesses or aspiring entrepreneurs  seeking to take their brand to the next level.

The advent of our “microwave society” has resulted in shorter attention spans resulting in the need for businesses to redefine the brand creation process. The standard rules do not apply anymore and it is imperative that brands change their approach towards engaging and communicating with their customer. The change starts @ the root by excavating your brand’s DNA to the point where the product or service can sell itself. That is one of many tidbits which are shared in this book.
